Social Media Manager
Location: Remote
Type: Part-Time/Contractor (with potential for growth) - Aproximately 40 hours a month.
Reports to: Executive Director
Compensation: $20-$22 an hour - Depending on experience.

Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, proactive, and mission-driven Social Media Manager to amplify OSL’s message, engage our community, and grow our online presence. This role is responsible for developing, executing, and analyzing social media campaigns that elevate OSL’s brand, highlight our programs, share disability-related design insights, and showcase stories that inspire inclusive design.
Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Management:
1. Develop, curate, and schedule engaging content across OSL’s social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) to increase awareness and engagement.
2. Collaborate with the team to capture and share OSL’s events, workshops, project updates, and success stories.
3. Design visuals, write copy, and manage multimedia assets aligned with OSL’s voice and branding guidelines.
Community Engagement:
1. Actively engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and thoughtful manner.
2. Build relationships with relevant communities, influencers, and partners to expand our reach and foster collaboration.
3. Monitor and join conversations related to disability rights, inclusive design, and accessibility.
Strategy Development:
1. Plan, implement, and optimize social media campaigns to support OSL’s programs and annual goals.
2. Research and analyze current social media trends and make recommendations for new approaches to improve engagement and reach.
3. Collaborate with OSL’s Executive Director and other team members to align social media strategies with organizational objectives.
Analytics & Reporting:
1. Track, analyze, and report on key metrics to measure the success of social media campaigns and make data-driven recommendations.
2. Use insights from analytics to continuously refine and improve OSL’s social media strategy.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years in social media management, preferably with a nonprofit or in a mission-driven organization.
- Skills: Proficient in social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) and scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite). Strong copywriting and content creation skills, with a keen eye for design. Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge: Awareness of disability rights, accessible design principles, or experience in a related field is a plus, lived experience of disability a plus.
- Characteristics: Self-starter with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Creative thinker with a passion for OSL’s mission and a commitment to promoting accessibility and inclusivity.

What does the process look like?
Round 1:
