OSL Grant Application
OSL Grant brief
Open Style Lab (OSL) aims to expand inclusive design practice and raise awareness through making. Part of our mission are three pillars: (1) to raise awareness, (2) to educate our community, and (3) to foster R&D tools for the community. In honor of International Disability Day (Dec. 3), OSL is providing grant awards of $500 each for applicants who are creating next-stage prototypes of a well-formed idea, one that raises awareness for the inclusion of people with disabilities by creating work that can be shared with the public as learning tools.
This award is meant to help fund basic design needs such as cost of material costs and travel*. The award looks for practical next-level iteration of a design service or product that is focused on accessibility related to style or fashion. The project must be accessible to and for public use in the form of photos, video, and/or a short written testimony. Award winners will be asked to provide a followup of how the award was used in a written report with images to be submitted to OSL no later than May 20, 2019.
*The award does not cover salary compensation or outsourcing of services. It also does not provide for promotional costs nor food.
