Sam Berman combines his passions for technology and advocacy into a career as a consultant for Equal Entry. He taps into career and life experiences to make the web easier to use for people with disabilities and promote the idea that technology can be used as a tool to remove barriers to independence. Sam has cerebral palsy and limited fine motor skills in his right hand making zippers hard to manipulate and pockets on the right side of a garment inaccessible. He and his team created a jacket that featured a lot of left side pockets and was easy to zip up/close with one hand.

Participating as an Open Style Lab client helped me understand not only how to better communicate certain aspects of my disability, but also that life with a disability is a constant learning process and there are things I am still learning about myself and my abilities.
