Board of Director
Grace Jun is a designer and social entrepreneur working at the intersection of universal design & fashionable technology. Her latest work, an inclusive designed blazer for women who have undergone post-breast cancer surgery, is on show at the FIT Museum’s The Body Exhibit. Grace serves on FIT Museum’s Body Advisory Committee and a nonprofit company, AXS Labs. She has been asked to speak about disability and design in numerous settings, including Design Indaba 2017, Forum for the Future, and SXSW 2018.
28 began having hand weakness in Spring 2010. Over six years the weakness progressed to complete paralysis in her arms & hands. Doctors believe that she has a rare form of ALS called Flail Arm Syndrome. Her dressing challenges include zipping a coat, or putting on gloves in cold weather. The Tribeca resident is passionate about the accessibility technology & its ability to improve quality of life.
Pinar Guvenc’s experience runs the gamut from economic incentives and grants real estate development, job creation and technology innovation, to functional furniture and clean tech innovation. She manages business operations and commercialization efforts at international architecture and design studio Eray/Carbajo. Understanding the value of strategic collaborations, she created and teaches a strategic collaboration workshop series for Made in NYC initiative and Pratt Center for Community Development.

For over 30 years Douglas Balder has balanced designing award-winning exhibitions, cultural centers, and learning environments and bettering his community. He helped to found and serves on the board of the All Stars Project, Inc., an independent, free program that transforms the lives of inner-city youth and poor communities using the developmental power of performance in partnership with caring adults.
Kilian Son is a fashion content director and also a entreprenewur who started collaborating with diverse fashion labels to create contents since 2013. He specializes in creating essential materials for fashion brands to best promote with the combination of his aesthetics and business sense.
Amy Jung is a Design Strategist building human-centered programs to connect talented individuals and brands. She develops multidisciplinary models that drive creative solutions for people, product, and markets. Amy is also the co-founder of Raw Haus, a community supporting emerging creatives in design and technology, and consults for early-stage startups under Shared Realities. Amy holds an honors BFA Integrated Design degree from Parsons The New School for Design.
Kern believes that sharing stories brings people together. The writer, social media consultant, wife and mom of two, also knows the necessity of apparel that functions and looks good. She has Cerebral Palsy and Fibromyalgia and was looking for a coat that would fit well, reflect her personality and be easy to don and doff whether in front of other parents or potential clients.

Open Style Lab is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to creating accessible and stylish clothing for people of all abilities. To accomplish this, Open Style Lab undertakes three main projects: our flagship summer program, class offered at the Parsons School of Design, and research projects.
