We are proud to present our impact over the years. Each report highlights the work, collaborations, and progress behind our programmes.
2025
- OSL’s “Hackability” Tool Kit and Levi’s Footwear Project from 2024 were showcased at the Design and Disability exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, curated by Natalie Kane.
- OSL spoke at events such as Tech Share Pro and The Conversations for Change Summit at the Tate Britain, London highlighting best practices in inclusive research, design, and employment.
- Grace Jun, OSL founding member and board president was named one of the Vogue Business 100 Innovators.
2024
- Our summer program, sponsored by Steve Madden and Macy’s, focuses on accessible footwear and was led by new Educational Director Tiffany Hwang. The first cohort of disabled expert fellows brought OSL into a new era of designing BY not only WITH the community.
- Grace Jun, our CEO published her book showcasing OSL’s 10 year legacy - “Fash -ion, Disability and Co -design.”
- OSL officially opened the UK branch, with Yasmin Keats as Executive Director.
2023
- OSL participated in The Vogue Business and Sustainability Summit and hosted bi -monthly community engagement workshops.
- We also launched our research on footwear accessibility, culminating in a white paper set for release in 2024
- OSL received it’s first US patent.
2022
- We hosted our first in person summer program, supported by our partners at Genentech to work with participants with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). 50% of design fellows were disabled.
- OSL debuted at New York Fashion Week, showcasing the first fashion show in the NYFW calendar centered on the inclusion of people with disabilities.
2021
- Adjusting to COVID-19 pandemic, we launched monthly virtual workshops for creatives and disability collaborators, along with the introduction of OSL Research Journals.
- The team reaches over 50% representation by peo -ple identifying with disabilities.
