FashionABLE

A Guideline for Adaptive Clothing Solutions for People with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)

FashionABLE is the result of a two-year research collaboration between teams in Canada and the United States focused on developing adaptive design solutions for individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI).

The outcome is an adaptive clothing guide that includes clothing hacks, tips, and practical strategies to offer more diverse clothing options for people living with SCI. The guide was conceived and created collaboratively by people with lived experience of SCI, healthcare professionals specialising in SCI, and designers with expertise in inclusive and accessible design.

FashionABLE aims to enhance independence, improve quality of life, and promote confidence and self-expression through adaptive clothing for the SCI community, while also supporting caregivers and healthcare professionals.
